Changing linux Root password

To change your current password,

~$ passwd 

To change the root password,

~$ passwd root

You will be asked your current password and then it will ask you to keyin your new password 2x.

It is good to check when your password will expire by the chage (check age) command.

~$ chage -l hanafi
